The new controller has been developed in collaboration with Algoriddim

Hercules has announced a new controller, the DJ Control Mix Ultra.

Developed in collaboration with Algoriddim — developers of the djay app — the controller is “created for mobile-first DJs who came up learning to embrace music mixing using apps and streaming services”. It integrates directly with djay’s app via smartphones and tablets, supporting both iOS and Android devices.

Hercules’ DJ Control Mix Ultra features two decks, each with three-band EQ, jog wheel, pitch control, eight performance pads, transport controls, and a dedicated filter. Each performance pad can be assigned four different modes: Hot cue, Loop, FX and Neural Mix, which isolates individual stems in real-time.

The controller is fully wireless and battery-powered with up to 10 hours of performance time, rechargeable via USB-C. While the touch-sensitive jog wheels are on the small side, Hercules says you’ll still be able to “scratch with precision”.

Connections-wise, the unit features master XLR and RCA outputs, plus 3.5mm and quarter-inch jack headphone outs. You can also connect to speakers wirelessly via Bluetooth that’s connected to your device, although expect the usual latency issues. Hercules’ DJ Control Mix Ultra comes with a hard cover to protect it, and there’s an included ‘split’ cable that lets you create two mono outputs from your device — one to cue and one master.

The Hercules DJ Control Mix Ultra costs $199 and is available now. You can find out more on the Hercules website.
