AlphaTheta recently announced their flagship HDJ-F10 wireless over-ear DJ headphones.
Thanks to the company’s proprietary SonicLink technology, the headphones provide DJs and music producers with an ultra-low-latency audio transmission, which is significantly faster than conventional Bluetooth, allowing for accurate monitoring in the DJ booth and/or studio.
To take advantage of the SonicLink tech, you’ll need to connect the dedicated HP-TX01 transmitter (sold separately) to your DJ mixer.
At the core of the HDJ-F10s are newly developed 40mm drivers with a PEEK-PU-PEEK composite diaphragm that delivers high-resolution sound across a wide frequency range.
Combined with enhanced earpads and ”improved housing structures”, the headphones provide excellent sound isolation conducive to loud environments., outperforming even the Pioneer DJ HDJ-X10 according to AlphaTheta.
In addition to wireless functionality (using SonicLink), the HDJ-F10 has Active Noise Cancelling and Transparency modes, giving users the flexibility to switch between focused studio listening and monitoring in the DJ booth.
The headphones are also Bluetooth-enabled for casual wireless listening.
As for durability, the HDJ-F10s have passed the US Military Standard MIL-STD-810G shock test, making them highly robust for frequent use on the road – so they’re definitely built to last.
The battery life is also impressive, offering up to 30 hours on a Bluetooth connection and 9 hours using SonicLink …noting that the headphones also come with a wired option as a fallback.
The HDJ-F10 are available for $389 USD, while the optional HP-TX01 transmitter needed for SonicLink comes in at $129 US. The full bundle is priced at $499 US.
