Only 1000 print copies of Deckades will be available, chronicling the history and influence of the CDJ from 1994 to now.
Pioneer DJ is ringing in 30 years of the CDJ with a new limited-edition fan zine.
The Deckades zine maps the history and influence of the CDJ across 23 distinct models, from the first CDJ-500, released in 1994, to Pioneer DJ’s current flagship model, the CDJ-3000. The zine also features interviews with Fatboy Slim, Fabio, Anna Tur, Kikelomo and TSHA.
Pioneer DJ is only printing 1,000 physical copies of the zine, which are available on a first-come, first-serve basis via this form. Interested parties can also download a digital version.
In July 2023, Pioneer DJ’s parent company, AlphaTheta, acquired the DJ software company, Serato. But only last week, New Zealand’s Commerce Commission blocked the sale on the grounds that it “could substantially reduce competition in DJ software.”
