The new cut, released to coincide with Black History Month, features vocals by the artist herself

DJ Minx has released a new single, ‘Taking It Back’.

Out now through her Women On Wax label to coincide with Black History Month, the track features lyrics written and performed by the Detroit artist herself. You can listen to it below.

In a statement, DJ Minx said “all the feels [are] on this one” and added that the song was the sound of her “going back to [her] underground roots”.

The track’s release comes ahead of a weekend of European shows for DJ Minx this month, with sets locked in at Djoon in Paris (b2b with Cinthie, 16th February), Panorama Bar in Berlin (17th) and Poble Espanyol in Barcelona (for Detroit Love, 18th).

DJ Minx was recently named among the first acts announced for this year’s Movement Detroit.

Last year, she released the single ‘D-Town’ via the newly relaunched Women On Wax label, and also shared a new Moodymann remix of her classic cut ‘A Walk In The Park’.

Minx was profiled in a 2021 cover interview with DJ Mag North America, in which she discussed receiving long overdue flowers after years of flying under the radar.
