“Give me flowers when I’m still living,” Frankie Knuckles once said, “because I won’t be able to enjoy them when I’m under the ground.”

As true as that sentiment is, people from around the house music industry have been pouring out their love for the Boyd Jarvis, dance music pioneer and inspiration, whose death was announced this weekend.

Here are some. We’d also like to read yours. Post them in the comments below or on our Facebook page:

It is with great sadness that I learned @boydjarvis had lost his battle with cancer and left us. He was a truly original and awesome artist, the kind of person who inspires you in countless ways with what they do. I believe that he touched so many of us with his talents. R.I.P.

Rest In Peace to Boyd Jarvis. His “Prelude To Paradise” began with a song Jellybean would play at The Fun House… https://fb.me/KhtNrAes

Oh Wow! Now at rest! A musical genius!!! Thankful that I had the opportunity to work with this amazing musical extraordinary human being. RIP Boyd Jarvis Sending prayers out to family members and everyone he touched. RIP

Boyd Jarvis. A name that appears on the credits of so many records I love from that golden era. I made a point of seeking his music after getting hooked on this one. RIP 🎵🎹🔥 https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=5&v=UPCcWWIq1iQ

Worked in a record shop in my yoof. Older lad who worked there gave me lots of advice but “buy any record you see with Boyd Jarvis name on” was without doubt the best bit.

Another gem from the late Boyd Jarvis. Everybody wants Billie’s high note that first kicks in at 4:00. And Boyd holds off till 7:30 with his piano solo. Taste!https://youtu.be/MM1CrZa6gPs
